The Portico Hotel, originally known as The Hanover Hotel, lacked an identity within its prime location of London, Victoria. The brief entailed a design that would change the 3-star hotel to a 4 star as well having a strong narrative that pays tribute to the famous architect, Thomas Cubitt who built London’s famous Facades around Victoria and Belgravia, including the building set within the prestigious street of St George.
The Portico Hotel marries elegant and bourgeois codes providing the perfect London stay. The overall concept pays tribute to the British Gentleman and the Victorian era, this strong pretentious man to whom we lend, in all situations, the monopoly of good taste. Inspired by colours seen within the grand era of Cubitt’s time, the hotel offers boudoir, dark and vegetal atmosphere throughout the forty-two bedrooms.
